How can I get a copy of your CV?

If you e-mail me then I'll send you a copy.

Would you be interested in something I have to offer?

Possibly ... why not e-mail me with a description and a telephone number - I'll call you. It's usually easier to talk in person.

What kind of position are you looking for?

A line or programme/project management role in an industry I can get my head round, such as retail, finance, telecoms, professional services or media.

What's special about you?

I learn very quickly, am very self-sufficient, and I believe that I have a strong aptitude for both management and technical skills. I also have a very broad range of experience in almost all aspects of IT from infrastructure and operations, through systems programming and bespoke applications development, to packaged systems deployment, project management and strategy.

I place a high value on trust, integrity, fairness and accountability in business and in dealing with individuals.

I have strengths in:

  • Solving complex technical and business problems, especially through innovation and exploiting new technologies in a team environment.
  • Managing the impact of culture, time zones, and distance on both service provision and distributed project management in an international environment.
  • Adapting working style: to influence, consult, direct and coach according to the needs of different situations and audiences.
  • Communicating at all levels; in particular, explaining technical issues in non-technical terms to senior business colleagues.

I believe that skills can be learned, but aptitude cannot. I have always recruited on the latter basis and never regretted it. With the right people, technical skills are the easiest to learn, and I have never found a lack of them to be a barrier to achieving any objective.

I believe that anything is possible (although some things are not economically viable) and that a willingness to believe that, to challenge assumptions, and to think creatively around perceived obstacles is often the key to achieving any objective.

I am flexible and naturally optimistic. What are often perceived by people as problems or barriers are often opportunities. Nearly always are a catalyst to new ideas and unlock often unseen potential in people. I know that I have achieved most in my career when I have faced my most difficult challenges.
